 Food Access

The primary goal of the Chaparral Crossing Farmers' Market is to make fresh, healthy, sustainable, and local food accessible to the residents of Hornsby Bend.

We offer a healthy food access program at the market, in partnership with the USDA and Sustainable Food Center. The Chaparral Crossing Farmers' Market is a USDA-approved farmers market that has been authorized to accept SNAP benefits and has recently been approved to double up these benefits as well! Double Up Food Bucks doubles the amount of Lone Star (SNAP) and EBT benefits individuals and families can spend on fruits and vegetables at farmers’ markets in Austin.

It's easy to use your benefits at the Chaparral Crossing Farmers' Market. Bring your SNAP card to the Information Booth at the market and let us know how many SNAP tokens you'd like to purchase. You'll receive a matching amount (up to $30) of Double Up Food Bucks to use on fresh fruits and vegetables! GET MORE at the Chaparral Crossing Farmers' Market!

NEW - We are now a participating farmers market location for the Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), aka WIC Voucher Program, through SFC. The WIC Voucher Program is a seasonal food access program that runs from April thru October. During this time, WIC-eligible mothers, children, and infants can pick up their WIC Vouchers at Chaparral Crossing Farmers’ Market and use them to shop for local fresh fruits and vegetables.
